Cherokee Area Council
The Cherokee Area Council, Boy Scouts of America has been chartered since 1914 to serve the youth, families, and communities of Hamilton, Marion, Bradley, Rhea, Grundy, Sequatchie, Bledsoe and Polk counties in Tennessee and Walker,
Catoosa and Dade counties in Georgia.

Scouting's Impact in 2005
- 6,442 registered youth members served.
- 1,986 registered adult volunteers.
- Over 100,000 service hours provided by adult volunteer leaders in our local communities, a value of $1.75 million.
- Over 15,000 service hours provided by youth members benefiting our local communities.
- 103 young men earned the rank of Eagle Scout—The average Eagle Scout project includes more than 100 volunteer service hours provided to a non-Scouting community organization.
- 2,183 Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts achieved one or more rank advancements.
- 3,888 Boy Scout Merit Badges earned.
- 1,410 Boy Scouts participated in week-long summer camps at Skymont Scout Reservation.
- More than 2,500 Cub Scouts and their family members participated in a day, twilight, Webelos resident or Cub family camp.
- Parents spend an average of 1-2 hours per week with their son participating in various aspects of the Cub Scout program.
